Once again, around 40 spin-off companies were launched at ETH Zurich. Start-ups in the fields of artificial intelligence and biotechnology were particularly well represented.

Egonym hat für den britischen Sender BBC in einer Dokumentation über die Internierung chinesischer Demonstranten in der Psychiatrie die Gesichter der Interviewten anonymisiert. Das 2021 gegründete Zürcher Unternehmen Egonym hat es sich laut seiner Mitteilung zur Aufgabe gemacht, die Privatsphäre in einer datengesteuerten Welt zu schützen. Dabei werden die Gesichter durch dessen proprietäre und auf Künstlicher Intelligenz basierende Technologie fotorealistisch und kaum merklich verändert. Die Erkennungsrate liegt trotzdem bei 0 Prozent.

Energy startup Yuon Control has won first place in the Ypsomed Innovation Award 2025, securing a CHF 50,000 grant. Biotech startups Xemperia and Santella took second and third place, each awarded CHF 25,000. Six startups developing solutions for a wide range of applications have been selected to join the 17th batch of the Swiss space incubator, ESA BIC Switzerland. One of them is Technopark based Resmonics. The company is reimagining the way lung diseases are monitored, assessed and treated.
