The search for the most innovative cleantech startup for the Swisscom Startup Challenge is coming to an end. The selection committee has selected ten Swiss start-ups that will further contest to become one of the five winners. Loopia is one of them.

CHF 2.6 billion for Swiss start-ups

With CHF 2.6 billion in venture capital and 163 financing rounds completed in the first half of 2022, Swiss start-ups once again set a record. However, an end to records is on the horizon: 60% of Swiss investors expect investment in Swiss start-ups to fall by up to 25% over the next 12 months.

First customers for Alivion’s methanol detector

Technopark Zurich based startup Alivion specialising in mobile chemical sensing devices has launched its first product. The spark-M-20 is a handheld methanol meter designed to measure even the lowest concentrations (0.01 vol%) within only 2 minutes. The first customers in the distillery industry are using the technology.

Seven deep tech start-ups receive CHF 100,000 each

From over 200 submitted projects, seven young Swiss CEOs received a W.A. de Vigier Award, each endowed with CHF 100,000. The winning projects range from electronics with a sense of smell (Alivion, Technopark Zurich), to early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases as well as super precise polymer 3D printing.
